A Summer Filled with Lantern Festival Events!
The Alliance has been busy this summer planning and promoting Lantern Festival events!

A Summer Filled with Lantern Festival Events!
In June, the Alliance dropped off 75 lanterns at the Connie Bean Recreation Center for Camp FunStuff campers to decorate while having kindness conversations. These lanterns were made possible by the generous donations of our Kindness Champions! We look forward to seeing them float at the festival on September 30th.
Next was Portsmouth’s Art ‘Round Town on August 4th! The Alliance participated with a display of lanterns at the Portsmouth Historical Society and met art enthusiasts interested in learning more about the Lantern Festival.
The next day Alliance Board Members were guests of the Portsmouth Arts Festival at Prescott Park where they provided coloring sheets for the children attending the performance of Into the Woods. Everyone loved coloring the kindness coloring sheets while waiting for the show to start!
On August 16th, the Portsmouth Library partnered with the Alliance to host a Lantern Decorating program. Forty-eight participants, young and young at heart, gathered to create kindness designs on lanterns provided by the Alliance. Kristi Bryant, Supervisor of Programming and Outreach, was excited to sponsor the evening.
“We are grateful to the Alliance for Greater Good for their efforts supporting the community of Portsmouth. We were glad to collaborate on the Lantern Decorating program. It was a fantastic, fun, intergenerational event, and everyone did such a great job decorating their lanterns! We look forward to seeing the beautiful lanterns at the Lantern Festival on September 30, and to collaborating with the Alliance for Greater Good in the future!” - Kristi Bryant, Supervisor of Programming and Outreach
