Community Kindness Campaign Seeks Kindness Champions

Kicking off their Community Kindness Campaign on June 3rd, the Alliance carried a six-foot lantern replica in the Portsmouth NH 400 Grand Parade and received a rousing response!

Community Kindness Campaign Seeks Kindness Champions

Last month, the Alliance kicked off a four-month Community Kindness Campaign that leads up to their Lantern Festival, an official program partner of the Portsmouth NH 400 Celebration. "We loved marching in the Portsmouth NH 400 Grand Parade and having a booth at Market Square Day. Both events generated a lot of community support for the Lantern Festival. We sold 190 lanterns, handed out hundreds of save-the-date magnets, and talked with lots of Lantern Festival enthusiasts," shared Julie Johnson, President & Co-founder of the Alliance for Greater Good.

Be A Kindness Champion!

As a part of their Community Kindness Campaign, the Alliance is partnering with art teachers and staff at Dondero, Little Harbour, and New Franklin elementary schools, as well as the Portsmouth Middle School and the Connie Bean Center’s Camp FunStuff to offer lantern decorating/kindness conversation events.

“The response from the art teachers, support staff, and Connie Bean Recreation Supervisor has been phenomenal! Each wholeheartedly embraced the opportunity to foster kindness and let the kids use their creativity to design their own lanterns for the festival. We so appreciate their participation, helping make the Lantern Festival a wonderful community event!” - Linda Fink, Alliance Director

The Alliance is also collaborating with the Portsmouth Library, Portsmouth Senior Activity Center and a Portsmouth assisted living center. To date the Alliance has lantern decorating activities for over 500 children of all ages. The Alliance is still seeking “Kindness Champions” to help purchase the lanterns for all these kindness activities which will be offered free of charge to the participants. As with the purchase of all lanterns, monies donated will go to the Seacoast Mental Health Center. Click on the button to learn how you can become a Kindness Champion!
