New Hats & Mittens Sought for Local Families

The Alliance for Greater Good is collecting new hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves for families receiving Thanksgiving meals at Gather’s annual holiday distribution event.

New hats and mittens sought for local families

The Alliance for Greater Good is once again collaborating with Gather, the community nonprofit fighting hunger in the Seacoast, to collect new adult’s and children’s hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves. Alliance volunteers will pass out the collected items to the families receiving Thanksgiving meals at Gather’s annual holiday distribution event.

“Last year, the community's response was amazing, as the Alliance collected over 1,700 items. With the rise in heating costs and other household expenses, we anticipate that this year's needs will surpass last year.” - Lisa Vivinetto, Alliance Cofounder & Vice President

There are three ways to give the gift of warmth:

  1. Purchase (or handcraft) items and drop them off at the designated collection sites.

  2. Order items using the following Amazon Wish List to have the merchandise shipped directly to the Alliance for Greater Good.

3. Click on the Donate Now button and the Alliance will shop on your behalf.

You can drop off items from now through November 15 at the Portsmouth Senior Activity Center at 125 Cottage Street or the YMCA of the Seacoast at 555 Peverly Hill Road, both in Portsmouth, NH.

Additionally, the Alliance is seeking volunteers to help pass out the donated items on Thursday, November 17. Email us at alliance.greatergood@gmail.com to volunteer.

If you have questions, email the Alliance for Greater Good at alliance.greatergood@gmail.com.
