Hats and mittens sought for Gather food pantry families
The Alliance for Greater Good is once again collecting new adult’s and children’s hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves to benefit the families receiving Thanksgiving meals at Gather’s annual holiday distribution event.
“[We] loved seeing the joy the event brought to [our] families in need.”
In its inaugural Share the Warmth drive in 2020, the Alliance collected more than 1,700 items thanks to the generosity of the Seacoast community. “The Gather team was amazed by how many items were collected,” according to Julie Johnson, one of the Alliance co-founders. “They loved seeing the joy the event brought to their families in need.”
The Alliance is rallying the kindness of people to Share the Warmth and provide some holiday cheer to Gather families again this year and is hopeful it will be able replicate the success of last year’s drive.
Items can be purchased or handmade and can be dropped off November 1 through November 17 at the Portsmouth Senior Activity Center at 125 Cottage Street or the YMCA of the Seacoast at 555 Peverly Hill Road, both in Portsmouth, NH.
