The Alliance for Greater Good is once again seeking to involve community card writing elves in sending warm holiday wishes to nursing home and long-term care facility residents.

Staff from the facilities provide the first names of their residents along with an interesting personal fact or two about each. The Alliance then assigns 10-12 residents to each volunteer card writer with all cards due back by December 12. Card writing elves provide the cards and write the personalized holiday messages, and the Alliance and its volunteers organize and deliver the cards along with some cookies donated by local stores and markets.

Not only are the cards and notes appreciated by the hundreds of seniors who receive them, but it turns out to be incredibly meaningful to the many elves and children who write the cards. The joy ripples and impacts far more people than we ever imagined. We are hoping that the community will help us spread joy, hope, and love again this holiday season and show our elderly neighbors how much others care about them.” - Joanne Wolfe, Alliance Co-founder and Treasurer

The Alliance is partnering with six long-term care facilities in Portsmouth, Rye, Exeter and Dover so far this year; other Seacoast area facilities that are interested in participating should contact the Alliance.
