Seeking Volunteers on September 4, 2022
The Alliance for Greater Good is helping to recruit volunteers for 12th Annual Newburyport Lantern Festival, which will be held on September 4, 2022.

Seeking Volunteers for Newburyport's 12th Annual Lantern Festival
If you have never been to the Newburyport Lantern Festival, you have been missing out on a truly magical evening. Last year, several of the Alliance Board Members attended the festival and were hooked. They enjoyed it so much that the Alliance is planning a lantern festival, which will be part of the Portsmouth NH 400 celebration in 2023.
“We'd like to repay the kindness shared by the organizers of the annual Newburyport Lantern Festival. They have been an inspiration for our own lantern festival that is in the works as part of the Portsmouth NH 400 celebrations." - Bonnie Blaisdell, Alliance Secretary
To repay the kindness shared by the Newburyport Lantern Festival organizers, we invite you to volunteer for their event, which will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2022. They need a 100+ volunteers to:
Set up tables & chairs
Serve as greeters
Decorate lanterns (calligraphers & decorating assistants)
Light the lanterns
Help clean up
Most volunteer assignments last about two hours. If you don't have plans for Labor Day weekend, click here to learn more and to sign up as a volunteer.
“In addition to volunteering, we encourage you to invite family and friends to attend the Newburyport Lantern Festival. Purchase lanterns in advance and host a lantern-decorating party. Then, share fond memories of loved ones lost, while watching lanterns float on Frog Pond.” - Kathryn Garcia, Alliance Director & Cofounder
