Whoo(pie) Wagon’s on the way!

We’re celebrating community kindness and raising money to help people facing housing insecurity. Through our collaboration with Womenaid of Greater Portsmouth, we aim to keep at risk neighbors in their home by providing financial assistance. Womenaid receives many financial requests from people facing housing insecurity who are one unanticipated bill or debt away from the brink of homelessness. These requests include direct housing-related expenses such as back rent, outstanding utilities, and housing repairs.

We’re hard at work to reach our goal to raise $25,000 through corporate sponsors, local businesses, and community members.  We'd like to give a shout out to the sponsors that we have secured so far.  We would love to recruit a few more so that we further extend our help to those facing housing insecurity.

Already we’ve sold over 200 lanterns at Market Square Day and the Kittery Block Party!  We had the opportunity to chat with 500 people who received our save-the-date magnets.

Get ready for the Lantern Festival and purchase your lanterns today online or at the Portsmouth Historical Society.  Party packs available at a discount- invite your family & friends to decorate your lanterns together!
