Meet the Board
Who We Are
The Alliance for Greater Good has six board members, all of whom volunteer their time, expertise, and passion to achieve the mission of the Alliance. They bring years of experience and a broad skill set to the organization.
President & Cofounder
Julia (Julie) is the President and one of the co-founders of the Alliance. She brings extensive experience in leading and developing operations through her 25+ years of work experience at Liberty Mutual. Her areas of expertise include operations management, guiding staff though 127% growth in new business; project management, generating $35.6M in new revenue; process improvement; and staff development.
Julie served two years on the board of the Seacoast Newcomers Club as their Web Manager. She streamlined operations by implementing online membership enrollment & renewals, online payments, and online event registration. Additionally, she spearheaded the most successful fundraiser in the club’s 50-year history.
Julie enjoys traveling and all things outdoors. She leads a women’s walking group twice weekly. Julie and her husband love learning about local history and support several history-related museums and non-profit organizations.
Diane is the Vice President. She brings strong legal, critical thinking, nonprofit leadership and collaboration skills to the Alliance. A former attorney, Diane practiced commercial law in Boston for a decade prior to transitioning into small business financial administration and operations management.
Most recently, Diane served as the Executive Director for a community education nonprofit where she particularly enjoyed encouraging lifelong learning and creating connections among community members, high school students and faculty. During her tenure, Diane recruited 35 new instructors and introduced nearly 50 new courses, increasing participation by 45% to a total of over 700 students, while significantly improving the financial health of the organization.
Diane and her husband are grateful to now live close to extended family and enjoy with friends the many outdoor activities the beautiful NH Seacoast has to offer.
Treasurer & Cofounder
Joanne is the Treasurer and one of the co-founders of the Alliance. Her career background was in developing, justifying, and executing budgets in various federal government agencies. She has also served in numerous volunteer capacities over the years, often as treasurer or in other organizational roles.
Joanne is excited to have retired with her husband to Portsmouth where both daughters and her granddaughter live and is especially grateful to be able to give back to the local community through the Alliance.
Bonnie is the Secretary. She had a 35-year career in elementary and special education in the southern NH area. She was instrumental in creating an award-winning pen pal exchange between elders and school children. Upon retirement, Bonnie’s family moved to Portsmouth where she became involved in the Seacoast Newcomers Club volunteering on their board as co-chair of Community Service. In this role, she researched local community organizations, made recommendations to the board, and organized several club fundraisers to support the chosen nonprofit.
Bonnie’s lifelong passion has involved fostering connections between individuals and encouraging active participation in the local community. Bonnie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, sailing, kayaking, and skiing.
